Matrix ![]() Neo chooses the Truth It’s a confusing movie for those who have watched it. Far greater is the challenge of having to explain it in summary form. Essentially people have been plugged into machines that use their heat as a source of energy. To keep people plugged in they are hooked up to a computer generated world, a prison for the mind. There are a few characters who are unplugged who help free people; they offer them the truth by waking them up in the real world. Would you want to be awakened to the truth if it means that you would be worse off even though you would be free? Many people live in a world of their own making. Truth is very confronting, none of us likes the idea of being controlled.
Controlling systemsSome obvious examples of systems which control people are: Communism, Islam, Governments and religions. But the best way to control someone is to do it without them being aware that they are being controlled. How is this done? By influencing your values and beliefs. If you were convinced that happiness and importance was measured by how many walnuts you collected you would probably have a silo full of them. Then you could feel more important than someone who didn’t have as many walnuts as you do. We are influenced to think that our ability to consume products is the way to measure a person’s importance. Money is a very powerful and corrupting influence. It can make us blind to the reality that there is more to this world than a job, car, house and friendships. There is a spiritual reality that we need to get plugged into. Plugging into GodI can’t remember how it happened but I was asked directly how I became a Christian. My life was changed by Jesus Christ when I was in my last year of high school. My parents got divorced when I was little and I was very angry with God and world. One of my friends challenged me to read the Gospel of John in the New Testament. For me Christianity was for middle class straight people. But the more I read the more I realised that God really loves people. I found Jesus embracing the outcasts of society, forgiving a prostitute of her adultery and dieing for the low lives of society. I realised that I wanted to make Jesus Christ the Lord of my life so I asked him to forgive my rebellion against him and to be my Lord. That is how I became a Christian. Over time my values changed, more and more I accepted God’s values for my life. My encouragementLet me encourage anyone reading this blog to get a Bible and read the Gospel of John. Ask God to reveal himself to you. Feedback
