| 1 - Jesus - Lord over Creation: Fear Him |

Mark 4:35-41 - Listen to this message now in Real Audio Fear is inevitable. We are all afraid of something; spiders, terrorists, failure, rejection. But foolishly we are often unafraid of God. We are too busy being afraid of so many things to be afraid of God.
We need to appreciate that what we fear controls us. If we are afraid of terrorism we may not travel, if we are afraid of people rejecting us we may not share our faith. Fear makes us selfish. The Fear of God gives us an outward rather than an inward focus. Obeying Him, pleasing Him is more important than self-satisfaction or preservation. When we fear God more than other things then He will have a greater influence over our lives. We will live much more for God and the love of others. We will gain a servant’s heart rather than using people to get what we need/want. That’s why the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. It sets you free from the fears that bind you, so you can enjoy loving God and loving people. |
