Malachi 1:6-14 - Listen to this message now in Real Audio or download as MP3 It’s amazing to me that we sometimes treat God like our Dog.
If my dog wants to get a pat, she comes to me and nudges me, sits and barks. I may or may not give her a pat. We treat God like that. It just depends on how we feel at the time as to whether we will worship God. And when we do we expect that God is really honoured and grateful with our worship. We rarely consider that our worship might actually offend God. Is that possible? Well if we are treating God like a dog yeah, it does offend Him. His name is great and so He should get our best, our first, our full attention, our full respect our full love not when we feel like it but all the time. Our motive, our manner and how we worship matters to God. In short we have to mean it; we need to at least want to be sincere when we worship the one who is our God and not our Dog. |
