![]() Christmas = more than presents Christmas more than any other time of the year should be a time of hope. Life can become so hectic, busy, complicated, frustrating, disappointing, painful and at times hopeless. Sometimes our hopes either don’t come true or they don’t end up being what we expected. We are just like kids who love getting presents, particularly ones they have been hoping for, but like most toys the novelty wears off and they get replaced. Christmas Hope is found in God’s rescue plan for our planet. Christ’s birth reveals God’s active love for the world. Despite the fact that people are the cause of the world’s problems, God rolls up his sleeves and gets to work. Jesus came and healed the sick, he gave strength to the weak, he untangled complicated lives, he made wise the simple and he gave hope to the hopeless. Hope that God really cares and that God is going to repair and heal what we have broken and hurt. Christmas Hope is best found not in what you hope to do or achieve, nor is it best placed in what family and friends can provide. Unshakable hope can only be found in God because only he loves without selfishness and only he has the power to rescue your life. As you celebrate this Christmas remember the significance of Christ’s birth. He came to bring to your life real Christmas hope. As the angels announced to the shepherds at Christ’s birth: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace and goodwill to all men!” (Luke 2:13-14) the Rev (Chris Perona) email: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it |
