The most powerful thing in the world E-mail

Enchanted
Love's Kiss
In fairytales the most powerful thing in the world is love’s kiss (see the film ‘Enchanted’). In the real world there is something even more powerful than love’s kiss. It is responsible for some of man’s greatest and worst achievements; it is responsible for heart transplants, man walking on the moon and two world wars to name a few.

The most powerful thing in the world is your tongue. We achieve everything with words  — we think in words, we communicate with words and we impose ourselves on other people with words. Words can either be so uplifting or so hurtful. How many times have you started a fight without even trying? Have you ever wondered why your tongue gets you into so much trouble? Is there any hope for our tongues?

The biggest problem: If we were able to take a spiritual x-ray of ourselves we would discover something very alarming. Our tongues are hardwired to our soul. This means that what is in our hearts has a tendency to come out via our tongues in what we say. Often it can seem that this happens involuntarily. If we have been hurt and become angry then it can be tricky to control what we say and how we say it.

If you want to find out what kind of person you are, then listen to what you’re saying to people during the day. You should also listen to the words you think when you are not talking. iPods are popular because they help us hide from the words of our own thoughts. Be brave, don’t avoid silence, use it to listen and review your words, for your words are a window into who you really are.

The biggest hope: There is a person who is more powerful than the tongue. God made the tongue and he made your heart. Jesus Christ was sent to earth by God to set souls free of their captivity to selfishness, fear, anger, guilt, shame and pride. A change of heart will bring about a change of word.
