Mark 4:30-41

Divine purpose

Birds are made to fly, fish to swim, horses to gallop, cows to milk, steers to eat, but what is your purpose? Your purpose is far nobler; you have been made in God’s image so that you can give God glory. Your life might be very busy with many tasks and challenges. But the greatest of these is to worship God. No matter how bad you are doing you can always worship God and in so doing you will be fulfilling your divine purpose. Find out how to become a worshipper of God; for he is sovereign, he is the redeemer and the guarantee of your salvation.

God's Will

•  Apostle by the will of God v1

• Paul is God’s messenger and his message to the Ephesians is that they should not lose heart because of his imprisonment but rather that they should take heart in God, that they should worship God.

• 5b Predestined according to good pleasure of his will

• V9 He makes known to us the mystery of his will, according to His good pleasure which he purposed in Himself

• V11 being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of his will

God's Glory

• V3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ

• V6 to the praise of the glory of his grace

• V12 that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of his glory

Ephesians 1:13-14 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
