Transformers are cool

Welcome to Mag, Tim and Trin. After the initial horror of realising their small group leader was their dad we got stuck into our study.

Saving our lives

God saves us to change us from something bad to something good, from someone who fights with God to someone who loves God.

Renewing our lives

God then gets busy renewing our lives. He wants to get rid of our badness and replace it with his goodness.

The Bible talks about us putting off the old man and putting on the new man.

Eph 4:17-24

Stuff we should remove

Speaking evil of one another, hating, malice, being jealous, disobedience

Stuff we should put on

Being peaceful, gentle, and humble.

Examples

Transformers are cool

We wanted to be less angry, bossy, and distant to become more loving, patient and affectionate.

Transformers

We liked the idea of being transformed like "The Transformers: Robots in disguise." The Autobots are cars and trucks who can transform into cool robots.

Caterpillars

In many ways we start off like caterpillars. We are really hungry and we eat leaves. We aren’t very poplar with gardeners who don’t like their gardens being chewed up by greedy caterpillars.

Transformed

After a while God transforms us into something all together new.

Butterfly

After being in our cocoon we come out a butterfly. We don’t eat plants any more. We eat nectar and when we do this we pollinate flowers which help the plants to multiply.

Behaviour

When we choose kindness over anger we are more like a butterfly than a caterpillar. This shows God’s renewing work in our lives and we hope that our kindness might spread to other people in our family, church and community.
