Certainty in an uncertain world

With the freedom of Post Modernism comes tremendous uncertainty. Values, principles and absolutes have been exchanged for subjective reality. Yes, we can do whatever we want but at what cost? Here is what is certain. God. And God loves to bless people who live according to his values. The sermon on the mount is something you can certainly live your life by and on. • Religions seek to bless god, or please god. They are based on expectations, on rules and regulations. Discuss what is different  in terms of who does the blessing and who it is that gets blessed in  Matt 5:1-12?

• Why would this be unnerving, particularly for religious people?

• Share how God has blessed you in a surprising way

• Explore the danger of constructing a life with a religious veneer Matthew 7:21-27   

• Any house building project will require considerable planning, effort and cost. Share in what way you are trying to build your life on the foundation of Christ.

• Share a storm that evidenced to you and maybe to others that you are building your life on Christ   

Prayer: Dear God, Thank you that you are God who blesses us through your Son Jesus Christ. Help us treasure Christ by constructing our lives upon him so that you can use us to bless people. Amen
