Psalm 3 - Listen to this message now in Real Audio or download as MP3

The relevance of Faith: "Where the rubber hits the road."

It’s not good enough to show off your new car to your friends while it sits in the driveway. They want to get in and go for a drive, they want to see how it handles, is it comfortable, sporty or just a dud. That’s where we get the expression “where the rubber hits the road.” So often we don’t want our faith tested, we don’t want it to get dirty, dinted or smashed. So we leave it parked in the garage for times when the sun is shining. Real faith is meant to be relevant, it’s meant to commute to work every day, rain, hail or shine. If you want help to take your faith out on the road for real then Ps 3 is a great coach. Here we have an example of Ps 1: Going God’s way and Ps 2 Being bold for God applied in real life. Ps 3 shows you how living God’s way will put you in the way of those that rage against God. Then and only then will you see the value of your faith. As you trust God to get you through then you will experience the blessing of Ps 1 and the victory of Ps 2. Only then will you realise the value of your faith in God; that it can be like rubber hitting the road.
