Ministry starts with our own need for ChristLife changing ministry begins with a life that has first been changed by Christ. The disciples were able to be sent by Jesus because he had first ministered to them. He had shown them his authority over the wind and the waves, over demons, sickness and death. They had experienced Christ’s power, compassion and wisdom for themselves. ![]() Ask for prayer It is my intention to ask you, my church family, for prayer. This will remind me that I am a needy person; I need Christ and I need my church family. Left on my own I quickly forget about Christ and begin to focus on my growing problems. I rely on what seems to work rather than what I know is glorifying to God. When you pray with me, we will both be turned towards Christ and we will be able to see Christ within our neediness. It is my hope that we all might learn to ask each other for prayer so that we will learn to turn to Christ more quickly in our times of need. As we grow in our experience of Christ’s compassion, power and wisdom then we will more readily be able to move towards people in their need. But I’ll say more about this later. For now, let’s get into the habit of asking each other for prayer. In this way we will learn that ministry starts with our own need for Christ. the Rev Luke 9:1-17 Go! For JesusExercises
Prayer: Lord Jesus I praise you for including me in your redemptive plan to bring people into an experience of your compassion, power and wisdom. Send me out today conscious of my calling to share the love of Christ I enjoy with people that I know and meet. Make me attentive to opportunities where I can pray with people who have shared something of their story with me. Amen
