Depression is like an uninvited intruder that settles in and systematically sucks the life and joy completely out of you. Begging it to leave only makes it all the more resolved to stay.....

Depression is like an uninvited intruder that settles in and systematically sucks the life and joy completely out of you. Begging it to leave only makes it all the more resolved to stay. Depression is a darkness that can make a person can feel quite dead despite having a pulse. Regardless of its cause depression is an opportunity. Before depression moves into stay you may have been happy to exist on the fumes of purpose such as; anticipating your next pay rise, buying a new pair of shoes or going out for dinner. However, if depression is your companion these things just aren’t good enough reasons to get out of bed. Depression should cause you to reconsider your priorities. If you are living life for yourself, your own satisfaction and happiness, then you are in serious trouble. The power of depression is in its ability to strip you of being able to enjoy anything. The only way to face depression is to have a purpose outside of yourself. Only then will you have any chance of battling with this unwelcome intruder. Jesus Christ is the reason to live and the source of help you need to face depression.
